Hattendo Cafelie is a blend of Café and Atelier. Café, shop, factory and hands-on workshop come together as one to let customers experience the surprise, delicious taste, and fun of our sweet buns. It is a completely new concept of participation and hands-on experience store.

We thought that it would be a waste, and not that interesting to just have our customers experience the process of making our buns in the factory. If you’re going to make one, why not make a cream bun that will be the only one of its kind in the world.
We want not just to explain to you how to do it, but to enjoy the excitement of making a new cream bun right alongside you. Our aim is to create a workshop that will give children who have this hands-on experience “dreams” and “ambition.” We hope it will make them think, “I want to do this kind of work when I grow up,” or “I want be just like that person.”
Shape the cream bun dough
We have the cream bun dough ready to go, so you can form it into any shape you want.
Make your own packaging paper to wrap your cream bun in. Draw anything you like, such as a picture of an animal or a picture of your family, or even write a special message.
Watch the dough rise and bake
Watch the dough rise and bake with your own eyes. The sight of the bread inflating and baking is sure to be an exciting one for children and adults alike!
Fill the baked bun with cream
Even the staff at our factory never forget the excitement they felt when they first filled one of our buns with cream.
Now you too can experience that excitement. The sensation of the bun slowly expanding as it is filled with cream is truly the high point of cream-bun making!
Wrap your bun and take it home
Once you have wrapped your cream bun in your original wrapper, your only-one-in-the-world cream bun is ready! It is all yours to take home as a souvenir.
We have a variety of hands-on experiences to help you fully appreciate the appeal of making Hattendo cream buns. Come and enjoy the opportunity to make your own original cream bun. Our hands-on experiences are held every day.
Hands-on program for making the dough, seeing the process of how the dough rises and is baked, stuffing the bun with cream (sorry but no choice of flavor), or making original wrapping paper.
